You should know
Chris and I are considering using this restaurant for our rehearsal dinner. In researching them, we saw that they offer a Prix-Fixe meal every day before 6:00. So we decided to take advantage of the offer and check out the cuisine.Ultimately, we decided to go with them
So?
So the prix-fixe meal comes with a cocktail, soup or salad, an entree, cofee or tea, and a dessert, for a total price of $26.95. Definitely a good deal.I got a Mojito (Bacardi Limon Rum, fresh lime, mint leaves, sugar & a splash of Sprite, normally $9.75), while Chris got a Golden Margarita (Jose Cuervo Gold, sour mix, lime juice, triple sec, splash of orange juice, normally $9.75). We were happy with our own drinks, but since he hates Mojitos and I hate Margaritas, we didn't sample one another's drinks. We served decent bread with a nice oil-and-spice dipping sauce, rather than butter.
We both got Caesar salads (normally $6.95) which were decent but typical. Then, I got Grilled Skirt Steak and Sausage with Mushrooms and Onions (not on ordinary menu). The sausage was good but not thrilling, but the steak was excellent.
Chris got the Pan Seared Tuna with 3 Dipping Sauces (not on the ordinary menu). It was also very nice; the orange and wasabi sauces suited it very well, but the third sauce was just normal barbecue sauce, which didn't impress.
This is the point where our service started disintegrating. Now, I don't entirely blame our waitress; after all, I noticed that several parties in our section made very complex alterations to their orders. Even so, we waited quite a while before making our dessert order.
For dessert, we both had green tea, and Chris ordered the cheesecake while I had the apple strudel (neither on the ordinary menu). Very tasty.
We then had another, entirely too long wait for our check. At this point, I was in danger of missing my train home, so we rushed out (and, sadly, forgot my leftovers, which I'd had wrapped).
Rating
Worth consideringThe food was delicious, and the prices were great for what we got, but the service could have been better. Consider going during the week rather than on a weekend; that might help.
